Annual Charity fair is a big success.
18/01/2010

On its 3rd consecutive year, Thursday 17th December 2009 saw Coleraine Inst’s most successful charity fair yet. With a number of new activities planned, including a large number of food and drink stalls, there was a lot of excitement buzzing around the school. This year, many people took part in one of the new activities which was the Rodeo Bull. This also caused great amusement for all the spectators. Martin Holmes (Y11) proved to have the most skill at this activity. We also saw the highly popular Sumo-wrestling suits, Gladiator challenge and Bungee Run return, with old scores still to be settled.

Ice-cream, sweets, drinks, hot-dogs, hot chocolate and buns were all available for some indulgence before the Christmas holidays began. These stalls proved most popular, with all selling out in the first half hour!

Other activities included a rowing machine challenge, guess the number of sweets in the jar, table tennis competition, golf challenge, keepy uppy competition, Wii battles and lots more.

The fantastic sum of over £1550 was raised in total. Each year group chose a charity to which their money would go. The charities chosen were Make a Wish Foundation, Marie Curie Cancer, Rock Ministries, Cancer Research, Help for Heroes and Action Cancer.

A big thank you must go to all the boys and staff who helped organise each activity and who took part so willingly and generously on the day.
