On Tuesday 22nd September 35 boys took part in the School Coarse Fishing Competition on the river Bann at Portglenone. The river was low and the fish were very shy with most anglers having only small bites to their maggot baits. The junior winner was Aaron Galbraith 8Q, who caught 11 fish weighing 950 grams. The senior winner was Matthew Pollock, Year 11, with 5 fish weighing 400 grams. All the boys taking part enjoyed a very pleasant afternoon on the riverbank. The School fishing team will be picked from the best fishermen on the day and they will represent the school in the Ulster Schools Competition on the 10th of October.
