The school had their most successful venture in the Year 8 Mental Maths competition to date. The team of Jake King, Wesley McCartney, Peter O’Neill and Jonathan Woods travelled to the Antrim Board Centre for the annual event. There were 40 participants from 10 schools. Jake King’s score of 34 after the first two rounds just missed the cut for the “last 16.” The other three qualified for the “last 16”, the first time the school has ever achieved this. Wesley McCartney went on to qualify for the final and then became the first Inst pupil to win the competition.
