Angling

The Angling Club runs a coarse fishing competition every September on the river Bann at Portglenone which is open to all boys attending the school and these results are used to help select a team to fish the InterSchools competition organised by the Ulster Coarse Fishing Federation in October.

A number of trips are generally arranged throughout the year to different venues but during the winter these are, naturally, dependent on the weather.

To take everyone’s eye off the wintry weather outdoors Mr. Harkness presides over a fly-tying class every Tuesday in room 19 and come Spring boys have the opportunity to try out their own home tied flies.
